The biggest loser in the French daily newspaper L’Equipe’s selection of its squad of the year is Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal captain, who had a tough year with Manchester United and his country, is the player who is missing from the starting lineup.
Given his inconsistency in the Red Devils’ set-up under Erik ten Hag, many people don’t find it odd to see him left off the ideal lineup.
Prior to last month, when Ronaldo’s contract was terminated, he had only scored three goals in 16 games for the Red Devils.
