201 kidnap victims in Borno and Kaduna are freed by the military

Major General Musa Danmadami, Director of Defense Media Operations, disclosed this information at the biweekly briefing at Defense Headquarters.

In the previous two weeks, numerous military operations in Borno and Kaduna States resulted in the recovery of at least 201 abducted victims.

The admission was made on Thursday at the biweekly briefing at the Defense Headquarters by Major General Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Operations.

Moreover, Major General Musa Danmadami stated that Operation Whirl Stroke forces captured 12 terrorist logistical providers and freed 16 kidnapped people in addition to neutralising 14 terrorists.

As this was going on, Major General Waidi Shaibu, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 7th Division and the Commander of Sector 1 of Operation Hadin Kai, paid an operational visit to the 112th Task Force Battalion in Borno State on Tuesday.

In the early hours of Sunday, the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) attempted to attack the town, but the forces were able to stop them. He praised and appreciated their efforts.

During the tour, General Shaibu praised the soldiers’ perseverance and intense fighting spirit, citing it as one of the qualities that make soldiers.

He praised the coordinated efforts of the soldiers for not only defending MAFA town but also for successfully eliminating a large number of the assailants in coordination with fighter aircrafts Air Component Operation HADIN KAI, leading to the hurried withdrawal of any remaining terrorists.

The GOC then made use of the operational visit to order the members of 7 Division/Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI to maintain their fortitude and alertness in order to deal effectively with any remaining Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists inside the area of operations.
