20-year-old victim abducted is freed by police in Zamfara

Tactical agents of the Zamfara State Police Command recently freed a victim, Abdulrahman Abubakar, 20, from kidnappers on the Tsafe-Kucheri-Yankara route in Kebbi State’s Gwandu Emirate.

The victim was saved as part of the command’s ongoing efforts to stop the tide of abduction and other associated crimes in the state, according to a statement made by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu.

“While debriefing the victim, he informed the Police that he was abducted on Monday, February 7, 2023, in Gwandu by unidentified individuals on motorcycles, and was carried into the jungle and held captive for three days,” the statement reads.

The victim was reunited with his family and friends after being brought to the police clinic for a medical checkup.

Kolo Yusuf, the commissioner of police for Zamfara State, thanked the victim on regaining his freedom and told the public that police would not stop working to free more captives.
