According to reports from Obasanjonews.com, Christopher, who was taken on March 21, 2024, while running an errand, is the son of ASP Bala Yarima, a Police officer at Gumau Division.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakil, stated that upon receiving a distress call about Christopher’s disappearance, the Police swiftly acted to apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.
The suspect, Rabi’u Ibrahim, was identified during the initial investigation and reportedly confessed to the crime, including receiving a ransom of N200,000 from ASP Yarima.
Ibrahim admitted to strangling Christopher out of fear of being recognized and then burying the young victim in a shallow grave at Bazale village hill.
Following standard procedures, the Bauchi State Police Command recovered Christopher’s remains, and a postmortem examination at the General Hospital Toro confirmed that the cause of death was indeed strangulation.
The case has now been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation, as per the directive of the state commissioner of police, to ensure justice is served in this tragic incident.
