On Friday, the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully apprehended 20 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in various areas of Sapele, Delta State.
This significant development was officially announced by the commission through a statement released on its designated platform.
The arrests were made possible due to credible intelligence gathered on the suspects’ alleged participation in computer-related fraudulent activities.

Notably, the authorities seized a total of 12 luxurious cars, as well as laptops and mobile phones, during the operation.
As investigations are ongoing, the EFCC intends to promptly bring charges against the suspects in a court of law.
