An uncle and a neighbour in Maiha Local Government Area kidnapped and sexually assaulted a pregnant housewife in Adamawa State.

The suspects were captured by members of the Adamawa State Police Command. Suleiman Adamu, 29, and Ahmadu Umaru, 26, are both inhabitants of the Machimin community in Maiha LGA.

Suleiman was revealed to be the victim’s uncle, and Ahmadu was her next-door neighbour.

Each man is married and has kids.

Suleiman is said to have told Ahmadu that he loves the victim and wants to have sex with her.

When the suspects learned that her husband had left for a trip, they allegedly planned a plan to break into her home at night.

They broke into her home around 11 p.m. wearing face masks and carrying cutlasses, taking the target to a valley where they raped and abandoned her.

The trouble for the men, however, started when the victim was able to recognise one of her attackers as her neighbour after making it home, despite the attacker’s mask hiding his face.

She reported the incident to the police, who with the help of neighbourhood hunters located and apprehended the culprits.

Afterwards, during questioning at the Yola police station, both suspects admitted to the crime.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the public relations officer for the Adamawa State Police, stated on Wednesday that Police Commissioner Afolabi Babatola had ordered the matter transferred to Police CID for additional investigation and prosecution.
