An 18-year-old boy in Kwara sets a house on fire after stealing foodstuff, causing shock and concern in the community.
Olawumi Ayomide, 18, has been detained in a startling incident that occurred in Ilorin, Kwara State. He is accused of lighting a house on fire after he and his gang stole food, clothes, and other belongings.
On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the spokesperson for the Kwara State Fire Service, acknowledged the occurrence in a statement.
Adekunle disclosed that Ayomide and his associates stole something, then purposefully set the house on fire.
Vigilant members of the community quickly captured Ayomide and turned him over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for additional investigation.

According to the statement, “the Kwara State Fire Service responded swiftly to a fire outbreak at No. 59, Afenifere Community, Onireke, Gaa-Akanbi area, Ilorin on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 12:11 hours.”
“Before being turned over to the community chairman, Mr. Azeez Jamiu, and then the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Tanke Division, Ayomide stabbed a man twice during his capture.
“Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, advised the public to prioritize safety at all times and to remain vigilant.”
