18 commissioners are confirmed by the Zamfara Assembly

The 18 commissioner candidates sent by Governor Dauda Lawal have been examined and approved by the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

The Assembly received the governor’s list of 18 nominees for confirmation, according to a statement made by Malam Nasiru Biyabiki, the House’s public relations officer, on Thursday.

The declaration claims that the nominations were examined and approved during the Assembly’s session on Thursday in Gusau.

Sule Adamu, Salisu Musa, Kabiru Birnin-Magaji, Yau Haruna-Bakura, Abdurrahman Tumbido, Lawali Barau, Nasiru Ibrahim, Tasiu Musa, and Mannir Haidara were among the approved Commissioners.

Capt. Bala Mairiga rtd, Abdul’aziz Sani (SAN), Ahmed Yandi, Wadatau Madawaki, Aisha Anka, Bello Auta, Abdulmalik Gajam, Mahmud Muhammad, and Dr. Nafisa Maradun are other confirmed nominees, it continued.

The motion on the governor’s request for the screening and confirmation of the nominees was first proposed by Malam Bello Mazawaje (APC – Tsafe East), the majority leader of the House.

Malam Aliyu Ango (APC – Talata-Mafara South), the House Minority Leader, seconded the resolution.

Mazawaje pleaded with his colleagues to support him and agree to waive House Order XV Rule 6 (6) of its Standing Orders in order to allow the nominees inside the Chamber for the screening.

After the screening, the parliamentarians unanimously approved the 18 candidates to be Commissioners and Members of the State Executive Council.
