16-year-old Almajiri boy found in Jigawa with eyes removed

Yusufa Mustapha, a 16-year-old Almajiri boy, was found dead with his eyes removed by Jigawa State police.

In a statement provided to Obasanjonews24, the command’s spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the occurrence.

He said that the event took place in a bush in Shiwarin, Kiyawa Local Government, on Friday at around 15:15.

He said that according to “information available to the command, one Mallam Mustapha stated that on the same date at around 8:00 a.m., one of his students (almajiri) by the name of Yusufa Mustapha, 16, went to the jungle to get firewood.

He claimed that the victim left and was later found in a bush with one of his eyes missing by an unidentified individual.

The person was transferred to Dutse General Hospital for inspection, according to Shiisu, and a doctor there pronounced the deceased dead.

He said that efforts are being made to find the crime’s perpetrators.
