The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, says he is not sorry for congratulating President Muhammadu Buhari for distributing oil derivation funds to the Niger Delta States.
Wike delivered a speech during the ceremony where 162 Nigerians were honored for their accomplishments, noteworthy lives, and contributions to the development of Rivers State and the country.
Governor Wike’s personal media assistant Kelvin Ebiri revealed this in a statement.
On Sunday, the message was made accessible to the media.
“I’m having issues today because I said, ‘Buhari, thank you.
We are in a country called that. Buhari is not someone I like.
“When a guy succeeds, state that he has succeeded in this area. You let him know if he didn’t do well. I don’t want to apologize to anyone. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing if Buhari hadn’t released the cash from 1999, which my party didn’t even release, stated Wike.
Additionally, Wike urged the governors of Kogi and Ebonyi States not to squander their money backing any other gubernatorial candidates in the State because the PDP, his party, will win every elective seat in the next general elections.
