100 passengers on board boat in Niger experience capsizing incident
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) has been informed about a boat accident that occurred in the Borgu Local Government area of the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi Baba-Arah, the Director-General of the agency, made this announcement in a statement released in Minna on Monday.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon when a boat departed from Dugga Mashaya in Dugga ward and was heading towards Wara market in Kebbi state.
The boat was carrying approximately 100 passengers, along with goods, grains, and other valuable items.
The exact number of casualties and survivors is still unknown, as the agency is currently conducting search and rescue operations with the assistance of local divers, agency desk officers, and local government officials.
