The Katsina State Police Command reported that its agents killed one suspected terrorist, detained two more, and found 100 rustled livestock in local Katsina areas.
Nemisis caught up with the suspects after learning about their whereabouts and actions from a reliable intelligence tip, according to the command’s spokesperson, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, who made this announcement in a statement on Friday.
The two suspects in this case are Ahmadu Abubakar, 30, also known as “Mai Boza,” of Wagini village in Batsari LGA, and Abbas Lawai, 40, popularly known as “Abbas Dogo,” of Filin Polo quarters in Katsina LGA.
Both suspects claimed to taking part in the attacks on the communities of Galadimawa, Karau-karau, Rijana, and Fan Turawa, which are all located in Kaduna State as well as some areas of Niger State. They also confessed to being members of the group led by one Surajo, a suspected known bandit commander.
Following an intelligence tip, police officers under the direction of the DPO Danja LGA repulsed suspected terrorists who assaulted a Fulani community in Unguwar Rogo and Rafin Gora in Danja LGA, Katsina, at around 9:30 that evening, using AK-47 rifles as a weapon of choice. Over a hundred livestock were later found after the police operatives were successful in stopping the attackers.
When scanning the site, ASP Sadiq said that the body of the suspect—who had been neutralized—was found.
