Ten citizens of Kwanar Dutse in Zamfara State have been slaughtered by a terror cell commanded by the infamous kingpin Damina. The village had refused to pay the N20 million charge he had imposed on them a few weeks prior.
A short while after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Damina led hundreds of combatants into the community.

One of the most attacked communities in the state is Kwanar Dutse, which is located in the Dansadau emirate of Maru local government region.
After the early evening Islamic prayer, the attackers broke into the village, according to a Kwanar Dutse resident who spoke with Premium Times over the phone and asked not to be identified for security concerns.
“Terrorists drove into the community from all directions and began firing randomly while we were seated outside a mosque. Though the terrorists are armed with more firearms, some of our vigilantes attempted to retaliate. The resident, a prominent member of the community, claimed, “I ran into my house and waited for my fate.”
During the attack, residents claimed that the terrorists set fire to a few of the community’s homes and businesses.
According to the village leader, his cousin was among those slain by the terrorists during the protracted attack.
For security reasons, another Dansadau town resident who wished to remain anonymous stated that Kwanar Dutse refugees frequently reside in his home.
Malele, Ruwan Tofa, Mutunji, Kwana, and most of the northern Dansadau communities’ residents are in a dangerous predicament since they have turned into simple pickings for terrorists, particularly those affiliated with Damina. He stated, “They regularly impose massive levies on the communities that amount to millions of naira, and when they fail to pay, they descend and kill them like animals.”
According to information obtained by Premium Times, the terrorists also kidnapped a number of local residents.
“It was awful,” the inhabitant of Dansadau claimed. “Two of the women in my home have been abducted, and one of them lost her son. It’s a dire situation. We were only able to provide them with a temporary place to dwell.
Yazid Abubakar, the state police spokeswoman, did not return calls or messages regarding the attack.
Over a hundred people were kidnapped by Damina’s organisation in November of last year from Mutunji and two other communities in the Dansadau emirate after the community neglected to pay fines levied against them for allegedly providing security authorities with information on the whereabouts of terrorists.
