The Atyap Community Development Association, ACDA, has voted against some of the security personnel stationed in the region to safeguard lives and property as a result of the alleged Fulani militants’ recent attacks on Atyap territory.
Dr. Sam Achie, the National President of the ACDA, made the disclosure at the scene of the attack. He bemoaned the government’s inaction in the face of the local attacks and its failure to take prompt action to terminate the unpleasant situation.
“I want the administration to match words with action by apprehending the culprits since the government knows them and where they are,” he added.
The Mopol in the Langson neighbourhood, who are said to have resisted the assailants, were also commended by the ACDA National President. He made an appeal to them to continue the excellent work of preserving the territorial integrity of the nation so that peace might rule.
With the words, “We have to safeguard our ancestral land since we have no other place to go to,” he also urged the populace to keep vigilant in order to defend their neighbourhoods and homes from oppressors who are determined to take over their ancestral lands.
While acknowledging the incident, Mr. Francis Sani Zimbo, the head of the local government council, urged the government to increase security in Zango Kataf to stop attacks on innocent people and their property that keep happening there.
