In the early hours of Thursday, a building collapse in the Jegede Oluloyo area of Ibadan, Oyo State resulted in the tragic loss of 10 lives and left seven others injured.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency verified that the incident took place around 2 a.m. in the Ona Ara Local Government Area.
An official statement reported that rescue teams are tirelessly working to clear the debris and search for any more survivors.

The agency revealed that in the most recent update, 10 individuals had been recovered from the debris, and seven were rescued with injuries.
According to the statement, “The Oyo State Fire Services Agency received an emergency call at approximately 2 a.m. this morning regarding the Jegede Olunloyo area in Ibadan. Ten individuals have been recovered from the rubble of the collapsed building, and seven people were rescued alive. The rescue operation is still underway.”
Rescue operations are ongoing as responders work tirelessly to reach any individuals still trapped in the rubble.
